Prof. ZHAO Lutao's Team in Mathematics Won the First Prize in the First National Teaching Innovation Contest For College Teachers

The First National Teaching Innovation Contest For College Teachers was successfully held at Fudan University in Shanghai and concluded successfully. USTB teaching team, lead by Prof. ZHAO Lutao, Prof. LI Na, Prof. ZANG Hongyan and Prof. CHEN Xuehui from the School of Mathematics and Physics, achieved the first prize through a fierce competition.
In the Beijing-level competition, the team of Prof. ZHAO Lutao from the Mathematics Department of the School of Mathematics and Physics won the Grand Prize in the senior group and represented Beijing to attend the Final Competition of the First National Teaching Innovation Contest For College Teachers. The teaching team of Prof. CHU Jixun, Prof. SU Yongmei, Prof. CAO Limei and Prof. LIU Baiyu, in the subject of Mathematical Analysis in Engineering, won the first prize in the associate senior group.
A total of 199 teams of teachers from 31 regions across China attended the national finals. Prof. ZHAO Lutao's team submitted a course on Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics. The team, under the guidance of instructors such as Prof. FAN Yumei, Prof. XU Er and Prof. ZHANG Zhigang and others, has been practicing and improving the course for more than ten years, expanding the “whole chain” of teaching innovation in four dimensions: teaching content, methods, mode and evaluation. Through recording teaching videos, submitting teaching achievement reports, on-site lectures and defending, the team fully demonstrated the outcomes of teaching reform and innovation, which were unanimously awarded by the expert judges, and finally won the first prize in the senior group of universities under the Ministry management.
