Establishing Partnerships

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) is the central institution responsible for facilitating the establishment and coordinating the development of new partnerships between USTB and its international (non-mainland China) partners.

Those institutions interested in forming a partnership with USTB should contact LI Xuewei at xuewei@ustb.edu.cn. Those submitting said request will then receive information regarding the specific requirements and procedure for proceeding with establishing a new partnership with USTB.

We welcome all the universities and institutions that seek to cooperate with USTB to CONTACT US.

In addition, please go to VISITS & DELEGATIONS if you wish to arrange a visit to USTB.

The OIA will do its best to promote various forms of cooperation. Please note that submitting a request to open a partnership with USTB may require several weeks or months to review. Those institutions interested in partnering with USTB are asked to submit a proposal for concrete areas of mutual interest whereby the two parties may consider options for collaboration. Once receiving a submission of interest the OIA will process the request, whereby it will then be examined to see whether it matches USTB's development strategy. The OIA strongly encourages all interested institutions to contact us at your earliest convenience to explore the benefits or working with USTB.

Joint Research

USTB strongly advocates for the pursuit of joint research ventures between our university’s researchers and those of partner institutions. Over the years our university has seen much success and mutual benefit arise out of such partnerships, between they be bilateral or multilateral ventures.

If you already have made contact with USTB personnel and wish to sign a formal cooperative agreement to undertake a joint research venture, or believe your institution could achieve strong mutual benefits by entering into such a joint research agreement with USTB, then please contact CUI Yujuan of the Overseas Experts Affairs Section at yjcui@ustb.edu.cn. If you have made previous contact with USTB personnel then you may ask them to contact our office as well.

Student Programs

International student exchange programs are a strong part of USTB’s global outreach efforts. Currently USTB has agreements seeing an exchange of students around the world, throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. We are committed to providing our students the best opportunities for advanced studies, and are always eager to find new venues to expand our programming.

We currently engage in a variety of student exchange programs with partners around the world, including graduate degree, dual-degree, short-term and cultural exchanges. If you are interested in discussing options for developing a student exchange program, be aware that such an agreement will first require a cooperative partnership to be formed with USTB. Please contact ZHANG Tianwen of the Student Exchange Programs Section at zhangtw@ustb.edu.cn for further information.

International Conferences

Every year USTB hosts a number of international conferences, both bilaterally with a partner institution, as well as multilateral conferences bringing together universities, enterprises, and research groups from around the world.

Located in the heart of Beijing and in possession of its own hotel and conference center, USTB is well suited for hosting conferences of varying sizes. For more information regarding this service, please contact CUI Yujuan of the Overseas Experts Affairs Section at yjcui@ustb.edu.cn.
