报告摘要/Abstracts:

Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is transforming manufacturing by enabling the layer-by-layer fabrication of customized components with complex geometries that are difficult or impossible to achieve using conventional methods. Beyond geometry, metal AM can generate unique microstructures and excellent properties due to localized melting and rapid solidification. As a result, the microstructure and performance of additively manufactured alloys can be programmed through the process design in AM.

In this talk, I will showcase a site-specific control of recrystallization in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) by locally manipulating the solidification structure. This strategy enables engineering the evolution of multiple microstructural features simultaneously, including grain morphology, crystallographic texture, dislocation density, and grain boundary character distribution, in 3D and at a high spatial resolution. Such site-specific microstructure control further allows the integration of dissimilar microstructures within a single build, with flexible control over their volume fractions and spatial distributions. By coupling “microstructure architectures” with “topology-optimized designs”, AM offers new opportunities to achieve superior combinations of mechanical and functional properties compared with monolithic microstructures. Finally, I will discuss pathways toward high-performance structural materials by integrating composition design with advanced manufacturing.

报告人简介/Brief introduction of speaker:

高叔博博士现为新加坡科技研究局(Agency for Science, Technology and Research, A*STAR)先进再制造与技术中心(Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre, ARTC)高级研究员(Senior Scientist)。他于2014年和2017年分别获得北京科技大学工学学士与工学硕士学位,并于2023年获得新加坡南洋理工大学(Nanyang Technological University, NTU)博士学位。随后在NTU新加坡3D打印中心(SC3DP)从事博士后研究。他的研究聚焦于金属增材制造(尤其是激光粉末床熔融与定向能量沉积)中高性能合金的制备与修复及其微观组织调控。相关成果发表在 Nature Communications、Materials Today、Acta Materialia、Advanced Materials 以及 International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture 等国际知名期刊,并担任多本材料与制造领域高水平期刊的审稿人。
